“Sublime eternal love is a possibility for human beings, and every human being should know that – it exists within each one of us.” -David Lynch
The world needs more seed planters right now.
Activities that bring us together and give us hope.
Art does that. Community definitely does that.
Look around you. What can you do locally? Who can you reach out to? Who needs you right now?
“Don’t fight the darkness. Don’t even worry about the darkness. Turn on the light and the darkness goes. Turn up that light of pure consciousness: Negativity goes.” -David Lynch
We need the light turned ALL the way up. We need to be each others lanterns.
The world lost a giant last week.
I haven’t stopped thinking of Lynch and his impact on all of us.
If you haven’t seen it, I’d strongly recommend watching David Lynch: The Art Life (currently free via the Criterion Channel.) I guarantee that it will inspire, engage, and make you smile.
I’m also going to encourage you to read or listen to David Lynch: Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity. (If this link disappears, search for it via your local library. I loved listening to Lynch read it.)
Don’t forget Room to Dream (which you can also find as an audio book via your local library.)
Looking for something to listen to? Try Lynch’s Music for Dreaming 1 and 2.
Feed your creativity. Hold onto it. Don’t shy away from it. Make things. Good, bad, ugly. ALL of it serves a purpose. It helps us make, find, and be the light.
Because I’m a working artist…my upcoming workshops:
“One day the sadness will end.”
“I would love to be in that state [of a waking dream] all day long, but you have to have some quiet. The world is getting louder every year, but to sit and dream is a beautiful thing.” -David Lynch
Thank you,
Kelly 🎨
Thanks for the David Lynch recommendations. I only have Carching the Big Fish.
